About Us

ACSN

Established in early September 2021 in response to the impending Afghan refugee crisis, the Afghan Canadian Support Network (ACSN) is an Ottawa-based registered non-profit organization. Comprising primarily of Afghan-Canadians with diverse gender identities who have resided in Canada for several years, ACSN understands the challenges of starting anew in a foreign country. The organization is committed to gender inclusivity, recognizing and addressing the unique needs and experiences of all Afghan newcomers.

ACSN's simple yet profound objective is to welcome Afghan newcomers to Canada. The organization achieves this by offering a sense of comfort and connection through culture and language, while providing a comprehensive range of support services. In expressing gratitude and respect for the land on which ACSN operates, the organization acknowledges the traditional territory of the Anishnabe Algonquin. ACSN recognizes the enduring connection of the Anishnabe Algonquin to this land and expresses thanks for the opportunity to live and work on it.
